Non-original exhaust is allowed, but it needs a validation certificate and can't be louder than the original.

What you need to know

Max the same decibels as the original exhaust.
Normal emissions test must still be possible.
Even e/E-approved exhausts go through the validation procedure.
Without EU/UN approval, a lab-validated certificate is needed.
If the manufacturer has none, you can request one from the Flemish Department of Mobility and Public Works (€118).
Report every change to the keuring center; you get a tuning report to keep with your keuring certificate.
Changing the diameter of the outlet of the original rear silencer is on the Flemish list of things that are not allowed.
